My Most Popular Posts of 2015
As the year draws to a close, I always spend time recapping my reading with the End of the Year Survey (coming next week!) and Top Ten Best Books I Read in 2015 posts. But realized recently that I've never spent very much time looking back at the past year of blogging! I adore Modern Mrs. Darcy's blog, and I was reading her two recaps - The 10 most popular posts of 2015 and My favorite posts of 2015 - when I realized I wanted to share those same lists on my blog. I devote almost as much time to blogging as I do reading, so why not take a look back at the best of the year? So, here are the 10 most popular posts on So Obsessed With in 2015:
This was the post that sparked a blogging trend, and I was not surprised to see that it was one of my most popular posts this year! I've always enjoyed writing about getting organized and the paper products I love, and it was fun to combine those interests into one giant post! And this post gave me the idea for the next three...
2-4. A Beginner's Guide to Faux Doris: The Cover, The Inserts and The Extras
After introducing my love for traveler's notebooks in the previous post, I decided to expand it into a small series where I talked about each of the three main things involved. These are some of my all-time most visited posts, and I'm still shocked when I see how many searches lead people there. But I'm glad they've helped people!
5. The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows
I was actually surprised to see that this was my most popular review in 2015. I thoroughly enjoyed The Orphan Queen (and was so thankful to Alexa for letting me borrow it so I could read it early), but I don't think there's anything remarkable about my review for the book. But I'm excited if it's leading people to read the book!
6. The Royal We by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan
I absolutely loved The Royal We, so I'm thrilled that it was one of my most visited reviews! I have a feeling that's partly due to sharing on social media (including a retweet or two from the @fuggirls themselves), but I'll take it! I've definitely pushed this book on a bunch of my friends this year, and I've loved seeing it on Best Of lists.
7. Under a Painted Sky by Stacey Lee
If I was going to choose a personal favorite review from 2015, I think there's a good chance it would be this one. So, I love that it's also one of the most popular! I ignored the typical review format and went for something a little more creative - a list of 26 reasons (A to Z) why I'm so obsessed with this book. Yay for mixing it up!
8. Audrey at Home by Luca Dotti
This was a little surprising, but it kind of makes sense at the same time. Audrey Hepburn's son and the author of the book, Luca Dotti, shared my review on social media so I'm guessing that's the source of a lot of the traffic to this post! Plus, I think it helped that I included lots of photos of the inside of the book for potential buyers.
I started this feature in 2015, and it's quickly become one of my favorites to work on! So, I was really excited when I realized that one of the posts made it into the top 10, especially because it was my shopping guide for The Royal We. I loved reading that book, and I had so much fun finding items that paired perfectly with it!
This is another "new in 2015" feature - a quarterly historical fiction collaboration with Alexa and Kelly! We decided to all focus on the same time period for our second because we each had different books set during World War II that we wanted to recommend. This was definitely one of my favorite collaborations this past year.
The Royal We is at the top of my 2016 list! I can't believe I haven't read it yet. I ADORE your Time Travel To and Buy the Book features! I'm so glad I'm not the only one :)
