Coming Soon To A Bookstore Near You
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Every week they post a new topic/top ten list and invite everyone to share their own answers. I'm so obsessed with lists - so it makes perfect sense that I'd love this feature!
Top Ten 2014 Debuts I'm Excited For
Most of the books that I'm excited for in 2014 are by authors I've read previously. However, there are some books that have gotten on my radar for various reasons, and I'm eagerly anticipating their publication. For each book, I've just listed the words or phrase that has me interested in the book in question!
1. Revolutionary by Alex Myers - Revolutionary War. Real-life heroine. Woman fighting in a war.
2. Girl on the Golden Coin by Marci Jefferson - Royalty. Real historical figures. Love or war.
3. The Crimson Ribbon by Katherine Clements - English Civil War. Real historical figures. THAT COVER.
4. The Wife, the Maid, and the Mistress by Ariel Lawhon - Mysterious disappearance. Gangsters. 1930s.
5. I Shall Be Near to You by Erin Lindsay McCabe - Civil War. Female soldiers. Inspired by real women.
6. Tsarina by J. Nelle Patrick - Russia. The Romanovs. Magical Faberge egg.
7. Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman - 1930s Germany. Forbidden love. Suspense.
8. Open Road Summer by Emery Lord - Country superstar. Music tour. Fame and friendship.
9. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton - Magical realism. Generational saga.
10. A Mad, Wicked Folly by Sharon Biggs Waller - Edwardian period. Women's rights. Art.
I was hoping for a Christian Fiction category. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list though!
Great list. Tsarina looks especially interesting!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of Girl on the Golden Coin! A Mad, Wicked Folly is definitely on my TBR because it sounds ridiculously cute and A Prisoner of Night and Fog... I need to squeeze that one in to my reading schedule because I'm so eager for that one to be fabulous. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Tsarina, I almost forgot about it! It sounds so unique. So does Prisoner of Night and Fog. Too many great books coming out!
ReplyDeleteTsarina & Prisoner of night and fog are two books I'm very excited about. I really liked Pearce's fairy tales and I can't wait to see how she's going to pull this off :)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of Girl on the Golden Coin until your post, but it sounds VERY intriguing indeed. I'll be looking forward to checking that title out, as well as The Wife, The Maid and the Mistress and Tsarina! I love that you've brought more new titles my way with this post :)
