Trying to Wait for 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Every week they post a new topic/top ten list and invite everyone to share their own answers. I'm so obsessed with lists - so it makes perfect sense that I'd love this feature!

Since I just recently posted about the sequels I can't wait for read (and it included a number of 2015 releases), I decided to limit myself to either new series or standalones. I don't want to highlight a bunch of books I've already talked about recently!

Top Ten Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2015

YOUNG ADULT

1. I Was Here by Gayle Forman
Anything by Gayle Forman is an auto-buy for me, and I can't wait to get my hands on this new release! Although I'm not a fan of the cover, I have no doubt that I'll be moved by the story inside.

2. Love, Lucy by April Lindner
I've never read anything by Lindner before, but I absolutely love the idea of A Room with a View retelling. It's one of my favorite classics, and I can't wait to see how the author has updated it!

3. I'll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios
I still haven't read anything by Demetrios, but I've been hearing a lot of buzz about this title. It sounds like there is a lot of depth to this story, and I'm so intrigued by the summary. I'm glad it will be released soon!

4. The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord
Technically I've already read this release, but I can't wait for it to be available for everyone. It's just as good as Open Road Summer, and Lord has cemented herself on my "favorite authors" list. I highlighted so many quotes!

5. Things We Know by Heart by Jessi Kirby
I really enjoyed Golden, but that's all I've read by Kirby. I think the reason I'm so excited for this book is that the summary reminds me of the movie Return to Me, which I absolutely love.

6. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
This list wouldn't be complete with the book that is at the VERY TOP of my list of anticipated 2015 releases. I cannot wait to get my hands on this beauty! If I could only list one book, it would be this one.

ADULT

7. First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen
While Garden Spells was my least favorite of Allen's novels, I still really enjoyed it. I'm excited for this companion and can't wait to lose myself in the magic of this story.

8. Girl Before a Mirror by Liza Palmer
I've also already read this book, but can you blame me? Palmer is one of my favorite authors, and she's really outdone herself with Girl Before a Mirror. I'm obsessed with the book and can't wait to push it on everyone!

9. The Mapmaker's Children by Sarah McCoy
I haven't read anything by McCoy, but I totally added this book to my TBR after I saw the cover on Twitter. Then, I read the summary and knew it was a "me" book. Set right before the Civil War, this one sounds amazing.

10. The Virgin's Daughter by Laura Andersen
I still have to read The Boleyn Trilogy, but I can't help adding this new series to my list. An alternative version of history in which Queen Elizabeth has a daughter?! Sign me up!

  1. Thank you ever so much for bringing my attention to The Mapmaker's Children & The Virgin's Daughter. I really want to broaden my reading horizons in 2015, so adult recs are always welcome!

  3. Oooh I'm intrigued by The Virgin's Daughter. Andersen's Boleyn series is in my TBR, and now this one is as well.
And I find it interesting that Garden Spells is your least favorite! Only because I sometimes feel like the only person in the world who likes The Peach Keep and The Girl Who Chased the Moon better. I liked Garden Spells better than The Sugar Queen, though. Which one is your favorite?
    Here’s my TTT post.

  4. I'm very excited for ACOTAR and Love, Lucy! I haven't read or seen Room with a View but the book sounds wonderful and I love retellings. I haven't heard of The Mapmaker's Children but the cover is enticing! And YES The Virgin's Daughter!!! I loved the Boleyn Trilogy and can't wait for more of that delicious alternate world :D

  5. I'm definitely curious about the new Gayle Forman & Sarah Maas books -- though I'm iffy on whether or not to commit to a new series with only the debut out :/ (Spoiled, I know.)

  6. I saw Girl Before A Mirror somewhere, and I can't think where... But I debated over it! It must have been on NetGalley, no?

  7. The Mapmaker's Children looks intriguing! I may have to add that to my TBR--Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres! I also have ACOTAR on my list, and I've seen I'll Meet You There on so many TTT that I'm going to have to add that one to my TBR as well. :)

  8. I think everyone is pretty excited for Sarah J. Maas's new book, I know I am! That cover, that synopsis.. that AUTHOR! I think that has to be my most anticipated of 2015. I haven't read anything by Liza Palmer, but you got me looking at her books! I definitely plan on reading Nowhere But Home before I dive into Girl Before a Mirror. I'm glad you read and loved that one already! Wonderful list, Hannah!

  9. AH I seriously CAN'T WAIT for A Court of Thorns and Roses. I am also really really really excited for The Start of Me and You. I kind of want to save it for summer though. And I am sooooo stoked for Girl Before a Mirror!!! Hurry up January 27th!

I'm also looking forward to Sarah Dessen's Saint Anything - although I have enjoyed her books less and less as I've left my teens behind - Marie Rutkoski's The Winner's Crime, and Gretchen Rubin's Better than Before... I was really into her happiness books. I am also so excited for Shadow Scale - the sequel to Seraphina - but I think I need to reread the first one. And I heard about The Huntress of Thornbeck Forest by Melanie Dickerson somewhere and it sounds so so so good.

  10. All of your YA novels are definitely on my radar for 2015! I've had the privilege of reading A Court of Thorns and Roses already, and it's absolutely fantastic. Different from Throne of Glass, but equally awesome. Also, you already know I loved The Start of Me and You! And also, Things We Know By Heart - it was a pretty good read, though still not my favorite Kirby novel.

Definitely looking forward to I Was Here, but also excited to read I'll Meet You There. Seriously, such great YA stuff coming out next year!
