April 2014: On My Shelves + Recap
via Vineyard Vines |
Adios, April! So, I read 11 books this month - and I'd say my reading kick is still on a roll. I slowed down a little compared to February and March, but that's mostly because I decided to re-watch all three seasons of Veronica Mars. Suffice it to say, binging that show meant I wasn't spending as much time reading. I had some amazing reads this month and definitely found some new favorites. If I haven't fangirled about them yet, just know those reviews are coming.
And my book buying? Out of control! April was a great month for new releases, but I also ended up purchasing some favorite books that I'd originally read from the library or on my Kindle. I know, I know. I was almost embarrassed when I was taking the photos for this post, and then I thought about how much great reading I've got ahead of me... No shame in my game!

Awesome month! I have a review copy of Bittersweet to read as well -- looking forward to hearing how you like it :)
ReplyDeleteOh yay! We'll have to compare thoughts once we both read it :)
DeleteI LOVE that calendar. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteEeep, wasn't Dreams of Gods and Monsters just the best? I finished reading the trilogy (and Night of Cake and Puppets) during most of April for the first time ever and whoa, I'm in awe.
I'm so ready for all the contemporaries, especially To All the Boys I've Loved Before, Since You've Been Gone, and Open Road Summer.
I love the calendar too! I was kinda mad I didn't find it until after the month was over because I totally would have used it as my desktop wallpaper.
DeleteAND OH HECK YES. That whole series just blew me away. I still haven't gotten my thoughts together enough to even write about it.
Yay contemps! There have been some great ones published this spring <3
WOW, awesome book month for you Hannah :) I've never watched Veronica Mars before (I KNOW lol), but with all the hype from the movie I really wanted to get into it. I think I'm going to order the box sets, I need a new binge series :P
ReplyDeleteYou got a ton of great books! Open Road Summer is definitely on my list now after so many raving reviews, I just have to wait until my mini May ban is over :(
Have an awesome May Hannah!!
I looooove those Sourcebooks reprints of the L. M. Montgomery books - I'm so jealous! I really want to order a couple. Have you read those three before? I'm also totally jealous you got The Complete Journals of L. M. Montgomery: The PEI Years, because I've been wanting to order that for a while, too. I have almost the entire set of The Selected Journals, though, so I'm having a hard time justifying it. I finished writing an undergraduate thesis on some of L. M. Montgomery's books at the beginning of April, and I think I'm kind of going through withdrawal. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI Shall Be Near to You looks amazing and I loved My Life Next Door, so I agree - you definitely have some great reading ahead of you!
April is the month where we spent ALL OF THE MONEY on some awesome contemporary reads! I really feel like my wallet wants to yell at me, but who could resist all the book goodness available to us? I love the photos of the books you've acquired, especially the YA ones since I've read and loved most of them too ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that the spine of What I Thought What True matches My Life Next Door! The stripes!!! I honestly did not buy that many books this month. Which is probably a good thing for my wallet! I am excited that some great contemporaries came out this month; means I can start planning my summer reading!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great April! Here's hoping May is just as good, if not better!
The gal on "Tangled Web" reminds me of Snow White for some reason. Oh April. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME? I bought a lot of books too... some of the same you have on here... but ahhhh. I need to take a break, I need 290384 weeks off to read, and you know... I need someone to cut me off. :)
