March 2014: On My Shelves + Recap

via Paper Squid
So long, March! Thanks for the feedback on the books I read versus what I bought vlogs question in my February recap. The result? I'll probably just film whatever strikes my fancy each month! There are things I like about both kinds of videos - and reasons why I sometimes don't feel like recording any at all. So, basically, you'll never know what to expect from my monthly recaps.

I read 16 books in March, and this is probably the longest "binge reading" kick I've ever been on. I've been devouring books left and right! I looked at my reading progress from the last two years and was shocked when I realized that it's consistently taken me until May to read the same number of books that I've now completed at the end of March. Goodness gracious! I'm sure I'll hit a reading slump soon (a given when it comes to reading and blogging), but I'm enjoying this while it lasts.

  2. That's more books by the end of March than I usually read in a whole year! That is so awesome :) I tend to get stuck around 50, but this year is looking better since I've diversified a lot more and have mixed in more audiobooks and shorter reads. I am so tempted to get The Winner's Curse, but hate that it's only the first of a series :(

    1. I've always been a really fast reader, but I find that blogging has made me read even more. I think I have so many books I'm excited about that I'm drawn to reading even more so now than I used to be. And I'm so glad you're mixing in audios + shorter books! Those are both great. I try to mix up adult, YA and non-fiction for similar reasons :) And I hate that Winner's Curse is the first book too! I sometimes hate starting series where I'll have to wait so long to see it finish.

  3. So many pretty books! I'm really loving the way those covers for the LM Montgomery books look. Anyway, I miss hearing you talk about books in your vlog! But I am happy that March turned out to be a pretty awesome reading month for you :)

  4. I am absolutely so excited about After I Do. I cannot cannot wait.

Missed your voice this month but I understand... I haven't had time to sit down and do a vlog either so instead, I just have shelves of books sitting and I haven't told anyone about them :( LIFE.

  5. AFTER I DO!!!! OH MY GOSH, read read read it soooooon! And, pun intended, I am on the fence about On The Fence...I want to read that and The Distance Between Us but it's not at the top of my list...more of when I need a lighter read, I think.

    1. I'd recommend Distance Between Us before On the Fence! I've read OTF at this point and it's cute but I feel like Distance packed a little more punch + was a little more fun. Plus, I loved that heroine's snark/sass/sarcasm and I think you will too.
