GREAT stack of YA from the library. I want to read ALL of those books. :D
ReplyDeleteI only read two out of the four YA in the stack - only because I got lazy and they were due back and had holds on them. But I lovedddd Pivot Point! SO GOOD!
DeleteAll the books looks o pretty I just want to pet them! What an envy worthy shelf full.
ReplyDeleteHaha! They do look so pretty - especially all lined up and Instagrammed!
DeleteSo I'm unforgivably behind on talking about Froi at the moment (I just haven't been making time for the computer lately!), but I'm still so so glad we all read these together. I really want to read Daddy Long Legs, which I have on my Kindle--it just seems like a lovely classic I was unaware of until recently. I was also just thinking about how I need to see if my library picked up Love and Other Perishable Items...because yay Aussie lit! So many lovely books, enjoy, Hannah!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Daddy Long Legs! It had a few odd moments, but the character's voice was so relatable and charming. I never got around to finishing Love and Other Perishable Items. I couldn't get into it at first, and next thing I knew it was due back. Boo! I'll have to try and snag it again because I love me some Aussie authors!
DeleteEVERYTIME I pass Glamorous Illusions and Grave Consequences on my Kindle I want to read them NOW. They are SO MUCH calling my name which is so funny because I think I may be turning into a historical fiction fan. What the what? I KNOW.
ReplyDeleteAlso, City of a Thousand Dolls. SIGH SIGH SIGH. I was on the waitlist for this one at my library for ages. I was first in line for the Kindle copy. But when I got it, I just couldn't get into it because I couldn't get into the language. It's like there should be a reference to some of the words used or something. Or perhaps there is and I just wasn't able to flip back and forth easily on the Kindle? So I didn't make it past chapter one which DESTROYED ME because the cover on this book just screams out to me as does the description. My local library hasn't gotten a print copy yet and I'm just about to ask them to buy the doggone thing because I know that if I want to read it, someone else will probably read it too! Doggone it. Anyway, I'm a little bit jealous of that one.
LOVED Pivot Point. I looked at the cover and didn't THINK I'd like it, but I totally did and cannot wait until the next book is out.
I have the Buzo on my Kindle and need to read that business! I didn't realize you liked contemporary??? But you have a ton of it there. Why did I think you didn't read YA contemporary? So I've read If I Stay twice and it was okay (imagine that shaky hand motion) but I read/heard Where She Went and LOVE LOVE LOVED it. I think it's so weird that I loved the second book so much more than the first book of that two-book set but WHATEVER. I did. Probably because I tend to sympathize with the male POV and that's Adam's book.
Look at me here, acting like this is email.
You've had a wonderful month, friend. Sorry for me getting to this post lamely late! Also hooray for April and springtime. :)
I seriously love that you're turning into a historical fiction fan. You have no idea how happy this makes me!
DeleteOkay, so I actually never finished City of a Thousand Dolls. I read like a chapter and couldn't really get into it, but I couldn't tell if it was the book's fault or just my mood. There were some pages at the beginning that listed like people's houses or something, so maybe it would have made more sense if you could see it in print. If you end up reading it you'll have to tell me if I need to request it and try again!
I LOVED PIVOT POINT, TOO! SO MUCH!
I didn't finish the Buzo book either. Clearly I wasn't feel super motivated to read these before they were due back. And haha love that you didn't think I read contemporary! I totally do :) It's fantasy that I'm not big on, but that's been changing a lot recently. I didn't love If I Stay either but I really loved Where She Went so obviously I had to own both because you can't just buy book two!
